It's Almost Ice Cream...

I'm a sucker for a big bowl of ice cream. I love the cool, creamy dessert so much so, it decided to start hanging out around my midsection daily! Well, I've had to put a stop to that.

I've started snacking on a treat that's close enough to ice cream for me: frozen bananas!

If you've ever made a fruit smoothie, you know frozen bananas blend into a creamy delicious texture. Here's a simple recipe from cooking guru Rachael Ray for banana ice cream using nothing but frozen bananas and milk.

Have you ever made banana ice cream? Tell me about it in the comments below!

  1. I once made frozen banana 'ice cream' before. It turned out really good! I want the one that made it, and everyone else in my family wouldn't dare to try it. I might just make some for my self today! This inspired me to do it again!

  2. I tried, once, and it turned out alright. My husband wants one of those magic dessert bullets now. They look pretty neat and supposedly work relatively well!

    1. You'll have to try it again and add in some walnuts and chocolate chips. That's my favorite combo to "spice it up" a bit! ~Angela

  4. So good! I just started the journey of kicking sugar out of my diet... the processed kind, not the natural kind found in fruit... and your posts will be very helpful :-)

    Thanks! (found you via A-Z)

    1. Hi Jess, Good for you!! I only have processed sugar once or twice a week now--in the way of chocolate candy. Otherwise it's natural sugars all the way! I even bake with honey in lieu of sugar! :) ~Angela

  5. Sounds good. I'm not an ice cream fan, but summer's coming and anything icey is welcome.

  6. Well, this recipe is so easy. Why not? It will cut down on all the dairy that bothers many people. Looks delish! as Rachel would say.
