Hello, 2014! Do You Make Resolutions?

Well, it's time to take inventory. Did you stick to your 2013 New Year's resolutions?

We all have great intentions, and start off January with a bang. Then, another year slips away. I hope you met your goals, tried new challenges and can look back fondly at your accomplishments.

Last January I vowed to make yet another healthy goal. Instead of focusing on diet or exercise, I promised myself I'd improve my financial health.

I'm happy to report, I feel successful.

The hubby and I both paid off our credit cards, padded the savings account and even treated ourselves to a vacation. I was also able to save up PTO and enjoy PAID time off from my small business.

It's amazing what budgeting and saving can do for your finances.

This coming year, I'm making another health-related goal. I'm hoping to be more positive. Now, for those of you who know me personally, you're probably surprised. I'm a pretty happy person already. But, I have a bad habit of feeding into gossip and conversations filled with negativity, which ultimately hurts my feelings and sickens my emotional health.

Instead of letting others bring me down, I'm adopting an attitude of letting negativity roll off my back. After all, downing others or taking negative comments to heart does absolutely nothing good for me.

So, have you set a goal or resolution for 2014? Feel free to share your ideas in the comments below. I find vocalizing my intentions makes it easier to stick to my goals.

Until Next Time,
Choose Healthy (And Happy)!

  1. Congrats on your financial goal successes! Sounds like you have turned things around. I am pretty good with money, but this year (as well as in the last month or two of 2013) I am being super strict in order to get closer to achieving one particular financial goal. I have many financial goals but I'm focusing on the most important one which is mortgage-related.

I don't really do resolutions, but I do set myself goals. I've usually set myself masses of goals but this year I'll be easing back a bit ... but feeling extremely determined to achieve a lot more than I have lately in the realm of revising my manuscripts!

    Happy New Year to you!!
